Fellow republicans, its time to take a moment to examine exactly where we stand in the world.
First, let’s summarize what we’re up against: The democrats are in the business of getting votes. And they're good at it.
The democratic party wants the Women’s Rights vote and the LGBT vote. They also want the Muslim vote, even though there is an obvious conflict there.
The democratic party wants the environmentalist vote, so they push the strictest environmental laws here in the united states, even though these strict laws will force manufacturing overseas. But they don’t push environmental restrictions on the manufacturing of goods imported from China, India, or anywhere else. Why? I presume it’s for the Chinese American votes and the Indian American votes.
The democratic party wants the working-class American votes, so they push minimum wage increases and more stringent labor laws here, knowing that it will force more jobs overseas. But they don’t push legislation that requires goods imported from China or India to be manufactured with minimum wages, workplace safety laws, or even child labor laws. Why? Again, I presume it’s for the Chinese American and Indian American votes.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not throwing stones. The Chinese and Indian people are good people. What political leaders do is no reflection on the citizens of a nation. (Look at our government!). The Chinese and Indian citizens would benefit greatly from environmental and labor laws in their countries. We do them a disservice by enabling their leaders and lining the pockets of their elite.
The democratic party wants the union votes, even though they are the ones responsible for the outsourcing of jobs and the recent discrimination against the police. That’s right, I called it discrimination. Unjust treatment of a group of people on the grounds of occupation. How much did democrats cut from police budgets? Respect the good police, people!
The point here isn’t to argue with the viewpoints of the democratic party, it’s to take a real look at what we’re up against.
The democratic party is in the business of getting votes, and their pretty darn good at it. Somehow, they can say anything they want and none of their followers question a word of it.
You’ve got to give credit where credit is due. The left side is putting on a good show.
Our republican leaders, on the other hand, seem to have lost touch with reality.
Here’s an example that should shake our party to the core: President Biden is going to put all undocumented immigrants on an eight-year path to citizenship, which means the republicans have less than a decade before they can no longer compete in national elections.
Can the republican party adapt to the changing political arena, or will they fade away in the manner of the Democratic-Republican and the National Republican Parties?
Most of our undocumented immigrants are Mexicans, Central Americans, and South Americans. These people are good people, but they are not forgetful people. They will remember which party showed them respect and which party knocked them down every chance they got.
Does the democratic party really care about these undocumented immigrants? Who knows? Some probably do and some probably don’t, just like some republican politicians really believe in what they’re preaching while others are just providing lip service for votes. That’s not the point.
What’s important is that most undocumented immigrants here in the United States are good people.
Remember that.
And the most ludicrous part of it all is that Mexicans, Central Americans, and South Americans are our people. Republicans are good law-abiding god-fearing people. So are our undocumented immigrants. While republican politicians huddle around their Christian base, they somehow completely overlook the fact that almost all Mexicans, Central Americans, and South Americans are Christians!
Oh, I hear the mumbles now. But they came here illegally!
True.
But the people themselves can’t be blamed.
Some undocumented immigrants came here because their children were starving. Some because their governments were corrupt beyond reason. Some to escape criminal elements that have taken control of their regions.
Should we have open borders? There’s no way I would agree to that. We’d have terrorists and criminals mixing in with the peaceful immigrants.
Should we take in all the poor and downtrodden people of the world? I cannot think of an economic plan that would allow us to provide jobs, feed, and/or care for the needy people from every nation. As soon as someone presents a plan that makes sense, then we can talk about it.
None of that changes who these undocumented immigrants are.
Of course, I’m not referring to the criminals among the undocumented immigrants. But the vast majority of the undocumented immigrants here are good people.
It’s time for republican politicians to open their eyes.
These undocumented immigrants are our people. Good kindhearted people.
Now that our politicians have alienated them, is it too late for the republican party?
There is a strong likelihood that there will be millions of new American citizens in eight years. Nearly all could be voting democrat, unless we try to bring them into our fold.
When the morally correct path is also the easiest to follow, it should be simple.
